Golden note for Leeton studio
By TALIA PATTISON
Jan. 21, 2014, midnightLEETON'S Redbak Recording Studios could soon have a Golden Guitar-winning artist to add to its credits.
The studio was home to country artist Bec Hance while she recorded her album Proud of My Country, with the track Albert Campbell up for a Golden Guitar at this weekend's Country Music Awards of Australia in Tamworth.
Ms Hance is a friend of Leeton musician Sharon Benjamin, who also plays a role with the studios.
Studio manager and producer Mark Hillier was excited for all involved.
"Bec is an Australian bush balladeer who is really quite talented," he said.
"We're really proud of what she has achieved ... it's a bit of long-winded story as to how she wound up recording here.
"She's friends with Sharon and wasn't happy with where she was recording, so she came down here.
"She is certainly the first artist that we've had here be nominated for a Golden Guitar."
